Asalamu Alaikum 10th and 11th Grade!

Welcome,10th and 11th Grade, to our blog.
This is where we will be posting our weekly reflections of the Quran.
Here is how it works...
Every week one student will post a link to a youtube video by Br. Nouman Ali Khan from:

http://www.youtube.com/user/quranweekly

I will notify you on who the student responsible for that weekly posting will be.  Every Tuesday I will announce a new student to put up a new youtube link for us to listen to.
.
Every student in the class will then listen to the short lecture posted by their classmate and write a reflection to that video.  Meaning that every week I should have 14 reflections posted on this blog.  And yes, you will be graded on this!! :-)

I am really looking forward to hearing your thoughts, and I also can't wait to post up mine :-)

    2. Aisha's Necklace allowed us to understand how one small thing can have such a huge meaning in Islam. Just this small incident where the Prophet stopped everyone to find Aisha's Necklace led to the revelation of an ayah allowing us to perform tayammum. It also reveals that people should be patient with their wives.

    3. So basically the main point behind the whole lecture was that the sahaba found a way to make wudu without water. This was called "tayamum". Another thing we learn in this lecture is how much love the prophet had for Aisha (ra). The love was so strong that the rasool (saw) stopped a whole army so they can find Aisha's necklace. :)

    4. You can learn alot from this story about Aisha's Necklace.

The prophet (S) ordered the entire army to stop to look for Aisha's Necklace. This shows that women have a high standard in Islam. The Companions were worried about not having enough Wudu2 to pray. So an ayah came down that allowed the companions to make Wudu2 and they were happy. They were allowed to make Wudu2 through anything on the ground. They would touch the ground and put it on their face. This was called Tayamum

    6. What struck me as amazing was the love the Companions had for Salah. One would think that in the predicament that they were in-Little water, in the middle of the desert, and in enemy territory- that they would worry over the possibility of their death. After their frustration over staying to search for the necklace and seeing the situation with the water, they STILL thought about their Salah. They were worried that they wont get to pray. Subhanallah, this is a trait we should all try to attain.

    7. Aisha's necklace was thought to be one small thing and does not symbolize or mean anything. To the prophet, the sahabah stopped under his command to look for his wife's necklace. At first the sahabah put the blame on Abu Bakr, but later on the sahabah praised him because when they ran out of water, Allah sent down an ayah that allowed people to make Tayammum.

    8. The prophet PBUH was informed by Aisha that she lost her necklace so the prophet commanded the whole army to halt and begin to search for the necklace and he had everyone stop and begin the search. The people were complaining that their wasnt that much water left so Allah revealed the Ayat allowing tayamum when there is no water and the caravan was so eased they told abu bakr that his family brings alot of good things.

    9. We can take away many lessons from the story of Aisha's necklace. When she lost her necklace, the Prophet stopped the whole army in order to search for it. From this alone we learn to be patient and loving to other people and to never put down the value of something. The companions were also quickly running out of water, and did not fear the end of their lives but rather how they would make salah. This teaches us the value of salah, and how in those circumstances we can make tayamum.

    10. SubhanAllah, Allah gave us an answer to every predicament, and this is clearly evident in this video. When not in reach of water to make Wudo, Allah gave us the solution of Tayamum. Tayamum is the process of purifying your body in preparation for Salah by using pure, clean soil.
One can also conclude from this video, the love and dedication Prophet Mohamed had for Saydah Ayesha (RA). He did not simply halt the army to look for the necklace, but to help his beloved wife. .

    11. This lecture showed the love the Prophet (PBUH) had for Aisha (RA) and the patience he showed towards the problem she encountered. The Prophet (PBUH) was told that Aisha had lost her necklace that she valued. Instead of ignoring it, he stopped a whole army just so they can find that necklace. It shows that even though the necklace is made of black beads and not gold, it means a lot for someone and to not downgrade the value of it. Also, the people were complaining about how there isn't much water left. We would think they're afraid of dying, but they're worried about Salah, and how they will make wudu. Allah gave the solution of Tayamum and therefore the sahaba found a way to make wudu without water.

  4. The reflection of what omar suleiman mentioned was so beautiful and heart warming because of the story he told us was so amazing, mashallah . It was a very tough day and the sahaba were going through war , the Surah 5. Al-Maida, Ayah 6
The prophets wife ayahs told him that she lost her necklace , the necklace was searched for in the middle of the war , the people searching were extremely tired and had no water to make wudu , the prophet then brought out this ayah to tell them that they should have no worries and that they can just do Tayamum ( wudu without water ) then he completely over joyed them showing that this was very significant in Islam .

  5. We can learn alot from the Prophet (SAAW)in this story. When the Prophet (SAAW) stopped the whole army and told them to go look for the necklace signifies his love and care he had towards Aisha. We can also learn about the care that Abu Bakr and Aisha had when the Peophet (SAAW) was sleeping and they didnt want to wake him up and held their emotions in. A very important lesson in this story that every Muslim should recognize is that when the sahabah didnt have water to drink and were tired, their only concern was, how they should make Wudu and their Salah. Allah also revealed this ayah based on the sahabahs reaction and on Tayammum which said that no matter where you are and you have no water, you can perform Wudu with the clean Earth ﴿وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرْضَى أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ أَوْ جَآءَ أَحَدٌ مِّنْكُم مِّنَ الْغَائِطِ أَوْ لَـمَسْتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُواْ مَآءً فَتَيَمَّمُواْ صَعِيداً طَيِّباً فَامْسَحُواْ بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ مِّنْهُ﴾
